Music 4 Hunger Foundation
SAVING HUNGRY, HOMELESS and UNDERPRIVILEGED Children
- NO CHILD SHOULD BE HUNGRY -
- NO CHILD SHOULD BE HOMELESS -
Sampsa Lopponen has always had a heart for suffering, weak and needy and to save and help children. Especially underprivileged children. Planning for Music 4 Hunger Foundation started in 2008, and currently the Music 4 Hunger Foundation is in the process of being legalized as a non-profit organization. However, the actual charity work has already begun. The Music 4 Hunger Foundation is preparing by doing research, making connections and building all necessary resources to be successful in making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children around the world. The Music 4 Hunger Foundation has also started planning for the first recordings and live concerts to save children around the world.
Sampsa is also blessed to have the renowned Music Director and Keyboard Player Cornell Thigpen on board as the co-founder, working with him on music productions, concerts and other fundraising events for Music 4 Hunger Foundation. Cornell Thigpen has worked as Music Director and Keyoardist with such artists as Chaka Khan, Mary J. Blidge, Babyface, Stevie Nicks and many other top-level singers, bands and artists.
Together, Sampsa Lopponen and Cornell Thigpen will save and change the lives of countless underprivileged children for the better. Their goal is to change and save at least 1 million lives of children around the world.
THE NEED
Every day up to 18,000 children die due to hunger alone.
Appr. 600,000 children die this month, some crying for food, some far too weak to cry anymore.
Every year over 7 million children die of hunger.
This should not be.
“There is enough wealth in the world for every child to have their basic needs met.”
The mission of the Music 4 Hunger Foundation is to help underprivileged children throughout the world raising funds through recorded music and live music concerts.
According to statistics from the United Nations Department of Food and Agriculture one in twelve people worldwide is malnourished, including 160 million children under the age of five.
One third of the children under five-years-old in sub-Saharan Africa are malnourished.
One out of every eight children under the age of twelve in the U.S. goes to bed hungry every night.
Conversely:
Every day over 100 million dollars is spent on weight-loss programs, products and special foods in the US alone.
“There is so much to do, but we can save the world one child at the time.”
Other needs are countless around the world: Clean water, clothing, housing, sanitation, care, health care, education, safety…
THE VISION
The vision of Music 4 Hunger Foundation, Sampsa Lopponen and Cornell Thigpen is to save children by raising money through music. Recorded music and also live events using the connections they have in the music business.
“Eventually we may establish our own charity bases, orphanages, schools, training programs and so forth around the world. As of now, we will channel the funds raised to already established and effective humanitarian organizations around the world. There are already many very well respected charity organizations we can work with, instead of using energy, money and resources duplicating what has already established, we will focus on what we know how to do best. Music.”
“Music is such a powerful tool to raise money and funds. It gives pleasure to those who participate by purchasing concert tickets and CDs, and in return, thousands and eventually millions of lives of dying children will be saved. This gives us more fulfillment than any other music project or accomplishment we have ever worked on or achieved.”
The Music 4 Hunger Foundation is currently working on details and negotiating with artists, labels and charity organizations around the world.
“This can be very powerful, and we believe it will be. This can become the charity music and recording label, and production organization in which many top artists will participate on a regular basis. Our vision is to produce top-notch music recordings and concerts around the world. We are committed to doing so. We have been blessed to achieve many things in our careers, and we feel it is time to give back as much as we can.”
“Is there any nobler thing to do than save another human life and help children? Especially underprivileged children, a helpless child and a baby. However, we cannot do it alone. We need your help, and there is so much you can do.”
“No Child Should Be Hungry.”
“No Child Should Be Homeless.”
“Your Help Can’t Wait!”
